Criticism over "pseudo-controversy"...

is a total NONSENSE when you have NO IDEA about the subject you try to dispute.
Check this video of a woman that tries to ban a piece of art:

For those who don't know the video HERE

So this woman tries to tell us that the video of Lady GaGa is "poison for the minds of our kids".
First of all: WHO IS SHE to say that this should be banned? You just notice that this woman has no idea when it comes up to art...especially talking about the film industry. There are so many movies and tv-shows that show violence and massmurder (I'm also refering to the GROUNDBREAKING hit that the Twilight saga was and still is ESPECIALLY for kids and teenagers. I know so many young people that are in love with movies about vampires and as we all know vampires are creatures that KILL people to suck their blood so that they can stay "alive".
Talking about a much more "innocent" movie type - THE DISNEY MOVIES - were the "bad guys" try to rule the world and want to destroy the world of the "good ones". I know that I, in a young age, was very influenced by those "bad guys" aka Cruella De Vil (whose name refers to the DEVIL - the biggest beast of all the beasts) and company and that those characteres were the ones that caused the biggest impact on me (in kindergarten I even dressed like them, because they were just more interesting than all the other "normal-people"). So why don't people think that there are children that fall in love with those kind of people?
Especially that woman in the interview doesn't seem to be worried about what is going on on TV, apart from a music video by a person that only wants to do art and refers to movies by Quentin Terentino. One thing that would be understandable for me is, that maybe the Telephone video could be pushed back to the "night-shows" and things like that so that children may not watch it.
But come on? Does this lead us to any place we should go to? Have we got to a point were creativity has to be banned from television?
I remember the VMA performance of GaGa where she "commits public suicide" and I think that this isn't the best influence for young kids at all. But would it be necessary to act the way some companies do by banning a piece of art?
If we look at other musicvideos where sex, violance, drug-abuse and things like that rule the artists' visions, then I just think that GaGas' video for Telephone fits into that company. It is just part of the art-industry to involve the topics that shock and I think that nowadays we are openminded enough to accept and tolerate every artist' creativity. Even in Britney Spears Toxic we can see how she kills a man with poison. And remember? Did this video cause as much of an impact as the Telephone video is causing? Come on people! Is it necessary to criticise someone by doing something in a musicvideo that is done in soaps and movies. Only because it is a music video (and for me the Telephone video is much more than just that) we should't be calling it "poison for the minds of our kids".
They are also refering to sexual tendencies (which are CLEARLY going into the LGBT direction) which for me is one of the biggest polemics in todays culture. If no one is showing this type of things, people never will accept to live with those people who have the same right to live their life in the way heterosexual people do. Banning a video because it shows homosexuality? OMFG! That woman even got to the point to call this "disgusting". What is more disgusting? To live opnely with our sexuality or not to be able to accept a person the way he/she is? In my opinion you should BAN that woman for saying this!
Also the point where GaGa is refering to that rumour about having a penis is just totally acceptable. Why is it something to worry about? People started to say that GaGa is a hermaphrodite. It's just normal that she wants to defend herself by saying she is not. So what's the point? Why is this so "disgusting"?
I am pretty sure that this woman would be the first one to follow Hitler by saying that people that do not fit into the "model" should be killed. It is obvious that people that do not have any notion about what they are saying and that justify themselves in the way that that woman does shouldn't be exculpating themselves in the way she does. Only because she is intolerant and not open to art (we can call it art, because it certainly IS), she tries to explain to us why nobody should watch this video. As the other journalist says... who likes it, should watch it. If you don't like it, just don't watch. It's so simple... you got a remote-control for your television. If the video is on and you don't want to see... switch the channel. Because as it is shown on YouTube there are a lot of people who are interested in that video (you can say it by the 17.174.890 views it already got and its only online for four days).

  1. I think the video has that many views already BECAUSE of the sccandal it is...which is -you are right- exaggerated, concerning other music videos that didnt cause as big of a buzz as this one.
I think banning it, would be about keeping it away from children, too. so you cant just state someone should turn the tv off, once the video airs... but i think your suggestion to only show it in late-night shows makes sense.
banning it seems a lil senseless to me since people can watch it anyways if they do really want to as you can easily tell from youtube.

  2. Furthermore the Telephone video could be considered as a COMIC. There is NOTHING serious about it. Even GaGa and Beyonce themselves seem to be two characters in a comic. The whole video is so out-of-reality. Why should we even listen to that crappy stupid woman?

  3. everyone has the right to their opinion. if people like then they should be abble to choose to watch just as who doesnt want to must be abble to decide against. turn off the tv zap to other channels. if there's kids there are programs and channels that arent aproachable to them. everything can influence anyone just pick .. anything really.
oh and by the way twilight saga? the good guys dont drink human blood ;) not defending it but if you want to criticize it,then go how the idolize love o the point of being in front of everything else and where you can forgive anything or how obcessive behavior can be accepted, how the series sellan idea without helathy balance. ;) goign to watch the video now. *
